Tal Saraf serves as the Head of People Engineering at Facebook, where he oversees the building and creation of the tools and services that focus on designing for equity and inclusion, building for scale, and shaping the future of work. Tal primarily manages the development of Facebook’s internal “recruiting and people products,” which are built from the ground up to support employees, managers, HR professionals, and recruiters by providing software-based insights and products that streamline recruiting and feedback, support performance management, and help employees learn new skills and unearth their strengths with data-driven recommendations. Tal has more than 25 years of experience operating, designing, delivering, selling and servicing public cloud based distributed systems, server and mobile software. Prior to Facebook, Tal was the SVP of Engineering and Architecture at Starbucks; Vice President of Cisco Cloud Services; the General Manager of Amazon Web Services (CloudFront and Route53); and a Product Unit Manager for Microsoft. Tal holds a MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and earned his BS in Computer and Systems Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a co-inventor on over 43 issued United States patents at Microsoft and Amazon.
